This beautiful riverside 10K has been running for over 40 years now and is a lovely local atmospheric event for both clubs and non-affiliated runners.

Every July some 700 runners descend on Walton-on-Thames to enjoy this fast, flat and scenic race along the Thames – starting and finishing on the Xcel Sport Hub's running track, and taking in the Thames towpath and surrounding roads.

Open to all abilities, this race encourages fast times (with a sub-30 min course record) as well as casual runners.

We are grateful to our 2026 sponsors : Bodymechanics and About The Run for their ongoing support, and to our fellow club Walton AC for the use of their facilities.

Location and getting there

The race HQ is by the running track at the Xcel Sports Hub, Waterside Drive, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 2JP.

About The Elmbridge 10K

The start line is on the running track and the course sets off down the track for 100m before exiting the Sports Hub and taking the service road down to the River Thames.

Passing through Sunbury Lock the course continues along the Thames towpath for the next 3.5K.

At Cherry Orchard Road, the course leaves the river and goes along Hurst Road for 1K before turning back towards the river and passing through Hurst Park, rejoining the towpath and heading back towards the Sport Hub for a running track finish to the line.

There is a water station at 6.5K.
